Kissing Fire (An Edge Novel #3) by A.M. Hargrove
Kissing Fire is the 3rd book in the series (An Edge Novel), A.M. Hargrove writing is spectacular, and I have to say her stories are only getting better with each book she writes. She is one of my favorite authors and will read just about anything she writes. The plot is exciting, a bit of suspense, romance, and humour; she makes me laugh out loud. One of the better authors I’ve come across lately. A.M. Hargrove stories are amazing and even though it’s an adult contemporary romance there is originality to her stories which I love.
In Kissing Fire we get to see Preston who was in Shattered Edge briefly, he is a DEA agent; you know the type, tall dark, and handsome, sexy, drool worthy type of man. YUMMY….We learn a lot about Preston in this story, his past, secrets, doubts and what his undercover has cost him. At times it’s a bit heart breaking to read what he has gone through. And then we meet Avery who has had a privileged life but feels trapped and decides to move to Seattle for a new start.
So when Avery and Preston meet up visiting their siblings sparks are ignited. This relationship is bumpy to say the least, you have one person who doesn’t think he is worthy of much because of his past. Then Avery who has very little self esteem and can’t fathom a man like Preston every wanting a woman like her.
The relationship that builds between these two is great, Preston is wonderful, sexy, and sweet and did I mention Yummy and Avery who has that southern charm is witty but lacking some self worth and can’t see herself like other do. Avery knows she has to figure out what she wants/needs……….. can she get past the dangerous life Preston has lived and will she be in danger? But the main question is could she live without Preston.
I really really recommend this series to anyone who is reading my review. This series is fantastic, all the characters are great and I love that you get to see some of the others characters from past books. Wait till you read about Avery’s next door neighbor, I’m hoping she gets her own book soon.
I have rated Kissing Fire 5 star rating and if you want to read this story as a standalone you will not be disappointed as A.M. Hargrove gives the reader enough of the history so you know what is going on. But I really suggest you go purchase Edge of Disaster and Shattered Edge and of course Kissing Fire.
