The Memory of You - Laurie Kellogg The Memory of You by Laurie Kellogg

I have to say I love Laurie's writing. This is a heart felt, heart warming, heart breaking and one of the best romance novels I have read recently.

This story is about a young woman who fell in love and her new husband was sent off to fight in the Vietnam War. Years later is when the story starts off and we find out Abby has lost her husband in the war, she is a young mom raising her child alone and trying to build a new life with a man she will never love as she cannot forget Matt.

Matt who was declared dead, but was held prisoner all these years has no memory of his life before being a prisoner.

On his return back to the USA he knows his name and he sets out to discover who he was. Meeting Abby and not having any memories of her is hard, but to make matter worse Abby does not reconize Matt.

Abby hires Matt to help around the house and all she sees is a man who fought for his country and is way to thin and needs her help.

Matt's biggest surprise is seeing his 6 year old son and knows no matter what he has to be their for his son.

This story is so good, I have rated it 5 stars and if you love romance novels I would suggest you purchase The Memory of You.
Shadow of Time - Jen Minkman Shadow of Time by Jen Minkman

First I have to say this book was amazing, and I found the authors writing and the research it must have taken to write this story was truly fantastic. Shadow of Time is well written, the characters and story line were captivating, and I couldn’t put this book down. I have to say Jen Minkman has written a very original story and I found myself truly caught up in this novel.

We first meet Hannah who travels to their summer home to hang out with her brother during the summer holidays. Hannah who teaches French is looking forward spending time with her brother and relaxing. When she bumps into her brothers best friend Josh she is shocked to see it is the same man she was checking out at the gas station earlier. He has grown into a tall dark gorgeous young man.

Josh and Hannah can feel the attraction and the pull towards each other, Hannah does struggle a bit as Josh is 17 years old compared to her 23. But she cannot control the attraction she is feeling and knows Josh is feeling the same.

Things are going well for Hannah, but at night Hannah is having some strange dreams that involve the Navajo people and Josh. Her dreams are starting to frighten her, not sure what to do with the images she sees in her dreams she starts to wonder if they could be real?

Shadow of Time is a paranormal romance novel but so unique and original that you can’t help but get caught up in this story. Hannah is a great character and she seems very real I really enjoyed how she handled things and the way the author kept her character more true to life then some of the other female characters in books.

I loved all the history of the Navajo people and its culture to be truthful I was so caught up in learning about this that sometime it was a bit more interesting then Hannah and Josh, but I do love romance.
Josh was a harder character to understand at first he was so on and off with Hannah I wasn’t sure what was going on, but the story had me so captivated I couldn’t wait to see this relationship grow.

I have rated Shadow of Time a 4.5 star rating, and Jen Minkman is one fantastic author, I would recommend Shadow of Time to anyone who is reading my review to go get yourself a copy of Shadow of Time. I would definitely read anything Jen Minkman writes in the future.
Cassandra by Starlight - Susan Mac Nicol Cassandra by Starlight (Starlight #1) by Susan MacNicol

Cassandra by Starlight is written by Susan MacNicol, Susan’s writing is great, the entire story and plot flows smoothly, the main characters were well written and you get enough information to get to know everyone, for me it was one of those stories that you don’t want to put down. This novel has elements of romance, suspense and some laughter. Cassandra by Starlight was refreshing to read and I have to say Susan MacNicol did a terrific job and kept me entertained right till the end of the book.

Cassandra is having a bad day and it’s about to get worse; first she wakes up with a bit of a headache due to the wine she drank last night, then on her way to work she gets stuck in slow moving traffic, she even pulls out her kindle knowing she may be there for awhile. And before she knows it something or should I say someone crashes right on top of her car. All Cassandra can remember is a man telling her to hold on. In the hospital we meet Ian a doctor who has suffered loss and feels bad for Cassandra and attraction to her. Then we meet the brother (Bennett) of the man who landed on the car who also feels it is his responsibility to make sure Cassandra is okay. Bennett who is not only from money happens to be an actor and is doing quite well for himself. But he has some family issues/secrets. He also continues to see Cassandra and here begins a great start to a passionate romantic relationship or so they try.

But as I said not all is roses with this relationship, Bennet has a stalker and it appears both Cassandra and Bennett are receiving calls from unknown numbers.

We also learn the Bennett’s family has plans for him and really would like him to marry and have children with a woman who his father knows is much better suited for him. To them Cassandra will always be a reminder of how they lost their younger son.

Cassandra does worry about the age difference as she is 10 years older than Bennett, and if that wasn’t enough Bennett is also from a well off family, he is talented and desired from women all over. Can Cassandra get past all of this?

So put all this together and you find yourself caught up in a pretty fascinating story.

I have rated Cassandra by Starlight a 4 star rating, and would defiantly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good romance/suspense and touch of humour story.

I received a complimentary copy of this book as a part of a blog tour to review.
Mortality - Kellie Sheridan Mortality by Kellie Sheridan

I’ve never read a zombie book and since watch Walking Dead I thought I might try one. I have nothing to compare this to but I will say that Kellie Sheridan has written a really good book. Her writing flows extremely well, character development is written well and you get to learn a bit of the background on each of the main characters. Mortality is like reading two books in one, it quite interesting.

You first get swept into Savannah’s story, right from the start I really enjoyed reading about Savannah and her friends. Then we meet Zarah, who is more or less alone now and saved by a young man named Liam.

Savannah is with a group of people who are living in a school and so far they are safe from the zombie. And before I forget these zombies’s are not like the ones on tv, some of them are stronger, faster and appear to be a bit smarter. There is a reason for this but you need to read and find out more. So one day Savannah and a few of her friends are asked to run into town to get some medical supplies from the local drug store, they are just thrilled to finally asked to go and do something. So they head off to the drug store and Savannah comes up with the idea they should stop by and check out the medical centre first she really figures that the zombie’s who were they might be gone. Well you know what they say about good intentions things from here just get bad. It’s heartbreaking at times I felt so sorry for Savannah as she feels so guilty for what happens next.

Then there is Zarah who is sitting in class checking out the new boy Liam when they find out about the Zombie’s. Liam gets Zarah out of their school safely and she heads home. When things get really bad for Zarah, she calls Liam to come and get her. On the run trying to stay alive Zarah and Liam run into many obstacles.

So if you like zombie’s this is the book for you. I have rated it a 4 star rating and recommend Mortality by Kellie Sheridan as a must read. Kellie Sheridan has written a fantastic novel and I cannot wait to read more in this series.
Kissing Fire (An Edge Novel #3) - A.M. Hargrove Kissing Fire (An Edge Novel #3) by A.M. Hargrove

Kissing Fire is the 3rd book in the series (An Edge Novel), A.M. Hargrove writing is spectacular, and I have to say her stories are only getting better with each book she writes. She is one of my favorite authors and will read just about anything she writes. The plot is exciting, a bit of suspense, romance, and humour; she makes me laugh out loud. One of the better authors I’ve come across lately. A.M. Hargrove stories are amazing and even though it’s an adult contemporary romance there is originality to her stories which I love.

In Kissing Fire we get to see Preston who was in Shattered Edge briefly, he is a DEA agent; you know the type, tall dark, and handsome, sexy, drool worthy type of man. YUMMY….We learn a lot about Preston in this story, his past, secrets, doubts and what his undercover has cost him. At times it’s a bit heart breaking to read what he has gone through. And then we meet Avery who has had a privileged life but feels trapped and decides to move to Seattle for a new start.

So when Avery and Preston meet up visiting their siblings sparks are ignited. This relationship is bumpy to say the least, you have one person who doesn’t think he is worthy of much because of his past. Then Avery who has very little self esteem and can’t fathom a man like Preston every wanting a woman like her.
The relationship that builds between these two is great, Preston is wonderful, sexy, and sweet and did I mention Yummy and Avery who has that southern charm is witty but lacking some self worth and can’t see herself like other do. Avery knows she has to figure out what she wants/needs……….. can she get past the dangerous life Preston has lived and will she be in danger? But the main question is could she live without Preston.

I really really recommend this series to anyone who is reading my review. This series is fantastic, all the characters are great and I love that you get to see some of the others characters from past books. Wait till you read about Avery’s next door neighbor, I’m hoping she gets her own book soon.

I have rated Kissing Fire 5 star rating and if you want to read this story as a standalone you will not be disappointed as A.M. Hargrove gives the reader enough of the history so you know what is going on. But I really suggest you go purchase Edge of Disaster and Shattered Edge and of course Kissing Fire.
A Little Bit of Déjà Vu - Laurie Kellogg A Little Bit of Déjà Vu (Return to Redemption, #1)

I found this book on amazon today free and started reading it right away. Let me say I was quite surprized how much I throughly enjoyed it.

Laurie Kellogg is a great author, the story was easy to read, has some great stories, it felt like I was reading two stories at once. It was very very good. Immediately I went and found more books written by Laurie and will definetly be reading more by Laurie Kellogg.

A Little Bit of Deja Vu is about long lost love, regrets, secreat and huge misunderstanding. And as a bonus there is a young romance involved as a side story.

There are some great heated scenes between Margie and Jake, and its a great romance novel.

I have rated it a 4 star rating and will be reading more books in the series.

I would recommend anyone who enjoys the romance genre to pick up A Little Bit of Deja Vu, I loved it and if your like me check out Laurie Kellogg's other novels.

A Tiger's Claim (Ashwood Falls, #1) - Lia Davis A Tiger's Claim (Ashwood Falls #1) by Lia Davis

Lia Davis has written a story around tiger and wolf shifters’ which is one of my favorite’s types of novels to read. Lia Davis is a first time author for me and I am very glad I was given the opportunity to read A Tiger’s Claim. Lia’s writing is good, her descriptions are well written the story line flows smoothly and I definitely would recommend this series to anyone who enjoys reading about shifters.

We are introduced to Shayna who is feeling overwhelmed by her father and brothers, they are all very protective of Shayna and sometimes she feels like she cannot breath. Keeping very close tabs on Shayna is driving her crazy, so after an argument with her over bearing Alpha father she runs off by herself. Feeling free running through the woods help Shayna clear her head. Off course nothing is that easy and Shayna runs into trouble. Knowing at this point she is in big trouble she is relieved when someone steps in to help her. Travis Hunter who is close by hears and knows someone is in trouble, stepping in to save Shayna from the rouges is something he knows he has to do.

Travis brings the injured tiger shifter home to keep her safe and take care of her injuries. While fixing her up he realizes that Shayna is his true mate. Shayna who happens to be going through her first heat cycle cannot explain what she is feeling at the moment because of her cycle and really is not sure about this mate thing. Being so protected all her life she is not really sure she is ready for another overbearing male in her life.

A Tiger’s Claim is full of over bearing male shifters, romance, mystery and passion, a great beginning to a new series.

I have rated A Tiger’s Claim a 4 star rating and recommend anyone to pick up this novel and you will definitely not be disappointed with the story or Lia Davis writing.

I was given this book free in exchange for a honest review.

I would say that it's a story you don't want to stop reading because you want to know what is going to happen and what secrets they are holding on too. I really liked Kate's writing style and got hooked into this story very easily.

Serena has a past and has some deep dark secrets. Alex also has some secrets he would rather forget. When Alex decides to befriend Serena she is uneasy about this. Playing the Maestro - Aubrie Dionne Playing the Maestro by Aubrie Dionne

Reading Playing the Maestro by Aubrie Dionne was a fantastic read, I loved the fact that this romance novel wasn’t about a rock bank but an Orchestra. It was a learning experience just reading about the life of a musician in this setting. Aubrie Dionne’s writing is really good, the plot, characters and the entire story line is well devolved thought out and I found very informative. It was one of those books that you don’t put down till you reach the end.

We meet Melody who is the lead flutist in the orchestra, recently Melody has sworn off men and is trying to stay focused on what she loves…her music. Melody’s life isn’t easy though, money is tight, and she is staying away from all men especially musician and she is a bit worried that someone is out to take or give her position in the orchestra to someone else.

Then in walks Wolf, he is the new conductor from Berlin hired to turn the Orchestra around and to make some money for the company. He is hot, sweet and very sexy. Of course Wolf and Melody do not get off to a good start but you can feel the attraction and know it is only going to get interesting.

This romance begins and we as the readers get to see both sides of Melody and Wolf thoughts, the different points of view was very well written and it made this story so much better. You love Wolf and Melody and only want the best for both of them. There is some romance even a bit of mystery that kept me intrigued.

This story is unique just for the fact that it is based around an orchestra and I really enjoyed it. The romance is sweet, the story is easy to read and very enjoyable. I would definelty recommend Playing with the Maestro to anyone who loves a good romance novel. Also I would like to add that I really enjoyed Aubrie Dionne writing and would read anything she has written or writes in the future.

I have rated Playing the Maestro a 4 star rating.
Eden-South - Janelle Stalder Eden-South by Janelle Stalder

Janelle Stalder has written yet another fantastic book in the Eden series. Eden-South is one of those books that once you start reading it you cannot for the life of you put down. If you enjoy fantasy novels I would say this is a series you need to pick up and read.

Janelle’s writing is truly amazing, she writes many different points of views, her plot and character descriptions are great the story flows so well that there is not a time you need to go back and make sure you didn’t miss anything. Janelle’s writing is flawless....and did I mention fantastic!

Eden-South has a lot going, the return of my favorite characters, and she has even given us a few new ones to meet and get to know. There is suspense, there are some of the OMG moments and of course there is a war in the works. This series is only getting better ............it sucks you in and you end up late for work because you didn’t get enough sleep the night before because you couldn’t stop reading this novel.

I am not a huge fantasy genre fan, but I am a huge fan of Janelle and her writing. Oh did I mention she is fellow Canadian ......anyway I started reading this series because of my friends and I have to say if I knew all fantasy novels were going to be like the Eden series I may actually read more fantasy novels. This is a series you need to pick up and read.

So Eden – South continues from where Eden-West has left off, there is so much going on you will be shocked to learn that Elisa is engaged to Markus! And where is Wolf...OMG moment!!! This is why you need to go read this book!! Eden-South is getting a 5 star rating from me, as it is one of those books that you don’t want to end. I just know there is so much more to come and now that I know the author I will try to send her messages to write faster and get us the next book out soon so I can see what happens next.

If you have not read Eden or Eden-West I suggest you go grab copies now and you are truly in for a great experience.
The Vampire's Partner - Benjamin Cole The Vampire's Partner

This is a short story about Tom who has been turned into a vampire and has to learn how to live with his long term partner Jeremy without killing him. Being a vampire isn't easy when Jeremy smells so good. This is a short romance novel, can love really conquer all? You have to read to find out.

Benjamin Cole's writing was easy to read, story flowed well, I would like to read more of his writing, so I look forward to his next book.

I've rated The Vampire's Partner a 3.5 stars.
Resonance (Holloway Pack, #2.5) - J.A. Belfield Resonance (Holloway Pack #2.5) by J.A. Belfield

Resonance is short story around the Holloway Pack series. J.A. Belfield writing is good, the story and the characters flow well, easy to read and it was a well written short story. To me it was a bonus before book 3 is released.

Resonance continues right where Blue Moon ended, it is short so it doesn’t take much time to read and worth grabbing a copy.

There is some new information in this story and of course we get to read about Jam and Sean. The scenes between these two are great.
All I can say without giving anything away is this is a series to pick up and read.

J.A. Belfield has written a great short story and I recommend the Holloway Pack series to anyone who enjoys the paranormal genre. I rated it a 4 star rating.
The Prelude - KaSonndra Leigh The Prelude (A Musical Interlude Novel) by KaSonndra Leigh

KaSonndra Leigh has written A New Adult Contemporary Romance novel called The Prelude, which by the way is one of my favorite genres. I really enjoyed The Prelude and once I started reading it I didn’t want to stop. KaSonndras’ writing is excellent, her words flow smoothly and I really enjoyed the main characters the descriptions were done extremely well. One of the things I liked most about this book is that lately I find authors are adding a lot of sex scenes in the adult romance genre and I really liked that The Prelude focused on the story more than the two having the actual sex. Don’t get me wrong though it’s still there and it is great, but I liked the plot and the way the story unfolded. This novel has a few different things going on, of course the romance, sexual tension, suspense, some lies and of course secrets. It has everything a good story needs.

So we meet Erin Angelo who has had to deal with a lot of tragedy and losses in her life, to protect herself she decided to keep her heart closed to love. She is now living in Milan and works as a designer with a few of her friends; they have recently just been hired to come up with the designs for Alek Dostov, Maestro of the local symphony. When Alek stops by to check on the design he meets Erin Angelo; in the middle of an asthma attack she asks him not to say anything to his boss assuming he is Alek Dostov assistant. So when Erin does meet up with Alek again she realizes her mistake. Alek is taken with Erin as Erin is to Alek. She starts to feel things she hasn’t for a very long time.

A lot of back and forth goes on between these two, and the sexual tension is off the charts, they both have so many secrets that the only way Alek is going to get his chance with her is by proposing they keep things light and maybe just have a sexual relationship keeping feelings and commitments off the table. Erin thinks this could work as the last thing she needs is to open up her heart, but are the fooling each other or themselves.

There is so much more going on in this novel, there is Alek’s past to learn about, and what happened to Erin, find out how her past has changed some of the dreams she had for her own life. And if Alek’s mother has anything to do with it, can Alek and Erin get past her controlling ways.

All I can stress at this point is go purchase a copy and find out for yourself.

So I have rated The Prelude (A Musical Interlude Novel) a 4.5 star rating and I highly recommend this novel. I cannot wait to read more of KaSonndra Leigh adult contemporary romance novels and really looking forward to reading a book 2 in this series.

By My Side - Stephanie Witter By My Side by Stephanie Witter

I have to say I really enjoyed this novel By My Side by Stephanie Witter, the writing was great, the story flowed well and I enjoyed all the characters. Like most romance novels, boy meets girl, they have some issues then they get there happy every after. This story felt different to me. I really enjoyed how the story was based on what was going on in their lives and not entirely around the romance. I mean it is a romance novel none the less but I enjoyed the story quite a bit. I would also like to mention that Stephanie Witter writing is very good her writing was easy to read, and her words at times made me feel real emotions for the characters in this story. This is a story of love, loss, heartache and life feeling out of control.

Lily Saunders life is falling apart, her best friend Andy is acting weird, his older brother Gabe is home who Lily doesn’t get along with and her family life has fallen apart. When Lily needs her best friend for support he isn’t there for her. Gabe steps up and tries to help Lily anyway he can. Gabe has been away at school and Lily can see clearly that he is different, quiet and seems more mature. In the past Gabe and Lily have always argued and for some reason they just don’t get along. But Gabe listens and Lily finds she can tell him anything; they share with each other their sorrows and a real relationship is formed between them. It funny to see how similar they are and how much they paid attention to each other growing up, even if it was yelling at each other.

Lily’s mother, father and best friend have deserted Lily and she has no one but Gabe. This story is heartbreaking at times and I loved Lily’s character, strength and I felt so bad for her being so alone at a young age. But Gabe does step up most of the times and it fantastic reading. I have rated By My Side a 4.5 star rating and I really suggest anyone who reads this and enjoys YA Romance to pick this book up you will not be disappointed.

Hiding Out - Nicole Andrews Moore Hiding Out by Nicole Andrews Moore

I just recently read Hiding out for a blog tour I have signed up for, Nicole Andrew Moore writing is good, the story flowed well, and character description and plot are well written. This is a contemporary romance novel with a happy ever after ending. These types of stories are what I call my Sunday reading.

The story starts off with us meeting Hailey who is working for an advertising agency in a temp position that her friend secured for her. Hailey hides herself, dressing in baggy clothes, keeps her head down and really doesn’t want to be noticed. Running from a horrific incident Hailey does what she needs to do to feel safe.

Sam Davenport runs his family business, and notices Hailey, seeing that she is skittish he comes up with a plan to involve her in his life. This working relationship is not easy; Sam would love to get closer but doesn’t want to scare Hailey off. When Sam realizes there is something Hailey is hiding from, he asks his company’s investigator to look into Hailey past.

The more Hailey and Sam build their friendship the safer Hailey starts to feel safe. This relationship has a few bumps along the way but it is romantic at times. And Sam really tries to keep his alpha male personality on the back burner not wanting to scare or intimadate Hailey.

But not all things go smoothly, as things are going well for them, someone from Hailey’s past reappears. Danger is closer then they think and the mistake Sam made by digging into her past may end up being the one thing that will tear them apart.

Hiding Out has friendship, romance, suspense, secrets and of course the alpha males so many of us women like reading about. I enjoyed the story and the only thing I did find was the ending seemed a bit rushed but then it was a good ending. So I have rated it a 4 star rating and if you like your romance novels this is defiantly a book to read.
Deceived - Part 3 Chloe's Revenge - Eve Carter Deceived - Part 3 Chloe's Revenge (Deceived #3) by Eve Carter

Deceived- Part 3 is the final instalment in this series. Eve Carter's writing is good and the story flows so well you don't want to put it down. The entire series is easy to read and you can't helped but get hooked.

If you haven't read book 1 or 2, I would say you definitely need to go purchase them both before you read Chloe's Revenge. In the third and final book Patrick arrives in Paris and saves Chloe from being attacked by a artist she had been seeing. Patrick and Chloe have a few issues they need to work out, especially the Baroness who deceived Chloe and made her think Patrick had been seeing her also.

This book is about revenge and I would say pay back and its a great read. Of course I don't want to say to much and spoil the story for anyone.

I have rated this series a 4 star rating and would recommend that you go pick up a copy of all three books. Eva Carter has written a great trilogy, they are adult themed full of hot steamy .......romance.
